"I love looking at the world ’from a distance and close up’, conjugating visions and details together, simplicity and complexity, local and global, traditional and contemporary, emotional and rational."
Claudio Nardi was born in Tuscany in 1951. He was a pupil of the acclaimed Italian architect and designer, Carlo Scarpa, from 1973-74, and graduated from the University of Florence in 1978.
As well as his many architectural achievements, Claudio has designed interiors, furniture and a range of products for renowned Italian manufacturers. He has an evolving fascination for both new and traditional materials and a n understanding of the importance of the use of light within any space. With his meticulous eye for detail, Claudio produces solutions which are always highly sensitive to their function and to their locations. His architectural work, both in Italy and internationally, includes cultural, civic, hospitality and residential projects. Claudios design for the Museum of Contemporary Art, built around the former Schindler factory in Krakow, won much international acclaim.
He has designed numerous fashion boutiques, and has created the retail image for many famous brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Malo, Tod's, Gianfranco Ferrè, Extè, Desmo, BP
Studio and LuisaViaRoma.
He is a regular visiting lecturer at universities both in Italy and abroad, and his work has been published in several prestigious publications including Arca, Domus, Elle Decor, Monocle, Interni, The Plan, Vogue and Wallpaper.
Claudio has won numerous architectural competitions, and relishes participation when ever time allows. He is recognized as one of Italy's leading architects, and welcomes the many
opportunities to extend that success into new markets.
