AOT launches Don Mueang International Airport’s Phase 3 Development

Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport is set for a significant transformation. With Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) and under the leadership of SV Architects and Associates’ Managing Director, Vichien Wongnimmarn as the Project Manager, the “Don Mueang Phase 3” project has been launched with a budget of 36 billion baht. The project aims to elevate the airport’s infrastructure and services to highest standard.

Asian Engineering Consultants Corp., Ltd. (AEC) and Partners plays a central role in this project, responsible for overseeing the entire development, ensuring that the project remains on track, within budget, and meets both the International and AOT benchmarks.

AEC and Partners have been appointed as the official consultants for the project. The collaboration will focus on surveying, analysis, design and planning, ensuring that the airport’s expansion is functional, sustainable and an aesthetic marvel. The project commenced on August 10, 2023.

Upon completion, the airport’s capacity will increase from 30 million to 40 million passengers annually, with the potential to accommodate up to 50 million. The project is slated for completion by the end of 2030.
