The Design involves the extension of current hospital clinical services to meet the needs and demands of a growing healthcare market. The building design is based on sustainable ‘Biophilic Design’ principles and practices featuring atypical block and open space typologies that come together in a logical unifying outcome expressed through the planning within the building.
Clinical planning is uncompromised being flexible in terms of both location and layout being adaptable to further site development through a series of available linkways located on most levels with northern and southern orientation. The massing and scale of the building reflects existing hospital infrastructure conditions promoting simple modernist architectural ques and functional aesthetic that softens its impact within the context of the site. As the development is not overly large, it lends itself to an air of intimacy within the public zones transitioning from one space into the next.
The facility incorporates approximately 33,000 Sq/M of gross floor area including an undercroft public carpark in addition to in-patient and out-patient healthcare services. Users have connectivity to the natural environment through extensive landscaping treatment and spatial conditioning. The Facade design concept is a sensual play of reflective building façade ripples across its envelope to create an iconic tower bundled with its sister towers on site It not only reflects the river but also reflects the prosperity of the past with intricate oration of the façade with colonial arches and with large tiled windows angled outwards from the interior providing more visual coverage creates a grandeur feeling. Thus creating the flow of a reflective ripple effect on the building’s façade. The façades are inspired from those classical style beauty that can stand the test of time. Enclosed in the podium lobby, dining and conference are visually paired towards the Chao phraya as the opening frames on the entry concaves in to receive guests and out curves while the guest sits in to dine and relax on the upper levels. At the top of this beautiful tower, a luxurious sky bar hovers for the guests to enjoy the full extent the hotel’s experience.
